Rev. Scamman Biography

Pastor Evan Scamman and his family are newcomers to the New England area. Both Evan and his wife, Lena, were born in Eureka, CA, but the Scamman family moved to Olympia, WA when Evan was a young child. Some years later Lena's parents also brought their family to Olympia, where Lena and Evan met, attended high school together, went to work for the same electric sign company, and finally were married in 2002. God blessed their union with a daughter, Katelyn (who is now attending Greenwich High).

After twenty years in the sign industry, Evan began to seriously consider the call to the ministry. With Lena's full support, Evan applied and was accepted into the Master of Divinity program at Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne. The time of intensive study that followed was in many ways a family effort, requiring six moves to four states within five years. (This includes a year of vicarage at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Lincoln, NE.) On April 25, 2018, nearing the completion of his studies, Evan was called to serve as pastor of the newly formed dual parish in Greenwich: First Lutheran Church (Greenwich) and St. Paul Lutheran Church (Byram).

Evan was ordained on June 17, 2018 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne and installed as pastor of First Lutheran and St. Paul in Greenwich on July 21, 2018. Since arriving in Greenwich, the Scamman family has been warmly welcomed and embraced by the members of both churches. As the Lord wills, Pastor and his family hope to be a part of the Greenwich community for years to come.
